Today, the first gas turbines for Beni Suef Power Plant arrived at Adabiya Port — the first of its kind to be deployed in the Middle East.
At 08:05 am the first of two H-Class turbines touched ground at the port after having passed through the Suez Canal. A 40-axle trailer will soon be transporting the 890-ton cargo to Beni Suef, traveling along a 250-kilometer route.
The gas turbines, which will spin at the heart of Beni Suef Plant, will play a key role in providing powerful and reliable energy supplies to support the long-term economic development of Egypt and meet its growing population’s demand for power.
The plant will be powered by eight Siemens H-Class gas turbines in total, selected for their high output and record-breaking efficiency. Once completed, Beni Suef will be the largest combined cycle plant in the world.
